A few words from my friend Don’s shack in Australia
Looking at the rigs set-up, from LEFT to RIGHT.
bottom left is the FT200 Yaesu 100 watt transceiver, circa 1977 when I got my VK3BMB call sign. The FT200 is a valve/solid state circuit and is a great rig.
Antenna tuner and the speaker come power supply are above it.
Bottom right is my Yaesu FRG-7 general coverage communications receiver to cover SW/MW. Above this are 2 cassette recorders, I often record broadcast stations through the night, using timers. Since the stations have set times/languages/and frequencies.
Above the FRG7 and top right is a yaesu FRG7000, a digital readout version of the FRG7. 1 recorder is connected to each.
Summer has arrived here, we are promised 32 C tomorrow, and we’ve just spent a few days down by the beach. Gets dark here at about 8.40 pm now.
Still no ham work this end Joe, band conditions are still not good enough to warm all the valves up HI. As I write this I'm tuned to KBS World, S Korea, and their English service to the pacific area. On 9570 kHz. I am a regular monitor for them.
