The Airlite 62 headset manufactured by Clement Clarke was and probably still is used by various departments of the armed forces. They were made to a variety of specifications but information is readily available on the internet where you can download .pdf files containing all the wiring and impedance data
This picture shows how my headsets were packaged when I got them.
They were brand new un-issued stock from an M.O.D surplus sale.
These pictures show the two different mic inserts.
These headsets are readily available at M.O.D. surplus sales and on the internet. You don’t have to pay very much either depending on Quality. You can still pick these up in un-issued condition.
These headsets have been modified and used to great effect by my good friend Charles MØOXO who is a very serious and successful contester and DXer. Click on his picture to see some of the great awards he has gained and super contest results he has achieved.
And this is where it all happens Charles’ Shack notice no amplifier! Great achievements’ can be made with good operating skills, determination and persistence. Quite a few of the many awards Charles’ has achieved were made when he was M3ZYZ a call sign which he still retains and uses from time to time. He also retains this call sign as a QSL Manager. So M3's don’t despair with a bit of propagation (coming soon hopefully) a lot can be achieved with your 10 watts.

These pictures show me and my Heil Traveller Dual headset.
I bought this headset to use with my Yaesu FT-897 and Yaesu FT-817ND when working portable.
